WCTGives “Threads of Hope” - Stitching Skills, Confidence and Hope
18 May 2026
Meaningful impact often begins with something simple: the opportunity to learn, grow, and discover what one can achieve.

This is the spirit behind WCTGives “Threads of Hope”, our latest community initiative launched in collaboration with Grace Community Services (GCS) and Hazel & Nutz.

Through this programme, WCT is supporting 20 women from B40 and vulnerable low-income communities by providing them with practical sewing skills that can help open doors to future income-generating opportunities. Many of the participants already have basic hand-sewing skills and a strong desire to learn. What they need is access to the right tools, structured guidance, and encouragement to take the next step.

Over 11 weeks, the participants will attend 11 sewing lessons conducted by Hazel & Nutz. Each four-hour session is carried out in small groups to allow for personalised guidance, hands-on learning, and practical coaching. The journey will culminate in a graduation day, where participants will showcase their completed sewing projects and celebrate the progress they have made.

To support their learning journey, WCT has sponsored 10 sewing machines, together with essential sewing tools and materials. The sewing machines will remain at the GCS community centre, allowing the impact of this initiative to continue beyond the 11-week programme through future training and skills development.

More than a sewing programme, WCTGives “Threads of Hope” is about helping women build confidence, strengthen their capabilities, and stitch together a more secure and hopeful future for themselves and their families.

At WCT, we can take pride in knowing that through WCTGives, we are not only contributing resources, but also helping create opportunities that can make a lasting difference in the lives of the communities around us.
