Celebrating the Success of WCTGives “Uniting Hearts” CSR Initiative
14 February 2025
WCT Holdings Berhad has successfully carried out another meaningful CSR initiative! As part of WCTGives’ #EducationForAll and #WeCareTogether pillars, the “Uniting Hearts” initiative—held in collaboration with Le Méridien Petaling Jaya—aims to empower individuals with special needs from the Gem & Bread Special Needs Support Group (“Gem & Bread”). This initiative provides hands-on skill development, real-world experiences, and long-term support to enhance the NGO’s sustainability.
WCT Holdings Berhad contributed a total of RM26,000.00 towards the “Uniting Hearts” CSR initiative, hosting the Exploration Day at Le Méridien Petaling Jaya, coordinating Gem & Bread’s Chinese New Year bake sale, and sponsoring educational equipment and baking materials, essential groceries, and food distribution packs for those in need within the Gem & Bread’s extensive network.

Here are the collaborative efforts under WCTGives “Uniting Hearts” CSR initiative, supporting Gem & Bread and individuals with special needs under its care:
Exploration Day at Le Méridien Petaling Jaya
Students from Gem & Bread (“The GEMS”) had a unique opportunity to explore the world of hospitality, gaining hands-on experience in the hotel's back-of-house areas, including the banquet kitchen, bed-making, and napkin-folding.
Under the guidance of Pastry Chef John, The GEMS whisked up creativity in a cupcake-baking workshop, enjoying a fun and educational experience.
Sponsorship of Educational Equipment, Baking Materials & Essential Groceries
To support Gem & Bread’s education and training programmes, WCT sponsored a laptop, baking class supplies, and quilling art materials, equipping the centre with essential resources to enhance skill development opportunities. Additionally, grocery cash vouchers were provided to support daily meals and alleviate operational costs.
Food Pack Distribution
WCT sponsored 315 food packs for the underserved community through Gem & Bread’s soup kitchen. On 21 February 2025, our dedicated employee volunteers demonstrated compassion-not just by distributing food but by spending meaningful time with residents at Taman Megah Handicapped and Disabled Children's Home, engaging with them and personally serving meals. More than a festive gesture, these contributions provide essential nourishment while supporting Gem & Bread’s meaningful work.
True compassion is shown through actions—WCT employee volunteers connected, listened, and personally served meals, bringing warmth and joy to the residents of Taman Megah Handicapped and Disabled Children's Home on 21 February 2025.
Chinese New Year Cookies Order
WCT further strengthened its support by coordinating company-wide orders of festive cookies, raising RM3,285 to contribute to the growth and sustainability of Gem & Bread’s bakery business.
Together, WCTGives continue to build a brighter, more inclusive future. Stay tuned as we champion social responsibility and create lasting change.
