WCT Holdings Berhad has successfully completed its latest CSR initiative under the WCTGives - #EducationforAll pillar. Themed “Brightening Lives”, the initiative supports Buku Jalanan Chow Kit (BJCK), an NGO providing free education to over 100 underserved children in Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur.

This initiative includes a sponsorship of RM57,000.00 to provide books, educational materials, and support for the upgrading and repair of essential facilities at the BJCK centre.

Here is how WCTGives “Brightening Lives” has rendered support to BJCK and its children:

Sponsorship of Educational Resources: To address the children’s education needs, WCT sponsored workbooks, exercise books, and educational materials for the centre

Upgrading and Repair of Essential Facilities: In line with the “Brightening Lives” theme, WCT supported the refurbishment and repair of the centre’s windows, doors, toilets, and minor electrical systems, creating a brighter, safer, and more conducive environment for students.

Mural to brighten and inspire: To further enhance the centre’s learning atmosphere, WCT engaged Artisan Malaysia, a local artist to paint a wall mural titled “BJCK – Our Journey” at the centre’s 3rd Floor, adding vibrancy and colour to the learning space.

Employee Volunteer Engagement: WCT employee volunteers spent an engaging afternoon at BJCK, connecting with over 30 upper primary school children through educational games like ‘Pictionary’ and ‘Colour Coordination’. There was also an ad hoc quick-fire Q&A session to test the children’s knowledge of history and math. It was a fun morning of educational games and activities that fostered creativity, teamwork, and learning.

Through this initiative, we hope to continue making a positive impact on the local community by providing educational tools, safe spaces, and opportunities for underprivileged children to thrive under the WCTGives pillar #EducationforAll.
