WCT in a joint venture under Cebarco-WCT W.L.L. secured a contract from the Minister of Works & Housing, Kingdom of Bahrain for the construction and maintenance works of Bahrain International Circuit. This 5.412 km Grand Prix Track located in the Sakhir desert features five FIA-certified racetrack layouts. Completed in the record time of 16-months, the project features a racetrack, VIP viewing tower, pit and team buildings, a technical resource centre, media broadcast centre, medical centre, grandstand and helicopter landing facilities.
The project was successfully completed in March 2004 and was awarded the CIDB Malaysian Construction Industry Excellence Award 2004 - International Achievement Award.
